GuessFlicks (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website guessflicks.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We take your privacy seriously and do not sell your personal data.

• Account information — if you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed password via Supabase Auth.
• Game data — your guesses, scores, streaks, and puzzle history are stored so you can track your stats across devices.
• Anonymous identifiers — guest players receive a randomly generated anonymous token stored in a browser cookie. No personal information is attached to it.
• Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL) that are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
• Payment information — if you subscribe to GuessFlicks Premium, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

• Authentication — to keep you logged in between visits.
• Anonymous session — to remember your guest progress before you sign up.
• Advertising — we display ads via Google AdSense on pages for non-registered users. Google may use cookies to personalise ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out at adssettings.google.com.

How We Use Your Information

• To operate and improve the game.
• To save your stats and progress.
• To process subscription payments.
• To respond to support requests.
• To detect and prevent abuse or cheating.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate the site:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
• Vercel — website hosting and edge network.
• Stripe — payment processing for Premium subscriptions.
• Google AdSense — advertising on free-tier pages.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us at hello@guessflicks.com. Anonymous guest data expires after 90 days of inactivity.

Children

GuessFlicks is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
